Yeah, that title is pretty spot-on.

Everyone has received their starting worlds and hands, and given me their discards. We are ready to go! Here is everyone's starting world:
Connie: Epsilon Eridani. This world gives her 1 military strength, and can consume 1 good for 1 VP and 1 card.
Laga: Ancient Race. This is a Green windfall world, and starts with a good on it. Special rule: Laga had to discard down to 3 cards at game start instead of 4 cards.
omnis: Separatist Colony. This world gives him +1 military strength, and he looks at 2 extra cards when Exploring.
chrismg: Doomed World. This world lets him look at 1 extra card when Exploring. In addition, once during the game he may discard this world from his layout, to play any non-military world at zero cost (except Alien worlds). It's worth -1, so it would be a good idea to use it at some stage.
It's time for everyone to choose their Action cards for round 1. Everyone, please send me your choice. But there's another thing to cover before we begin. For the first time this game, we've added goals to the mix. Next post will present the goals drawn randomly for this game.
RftG
There are six goals in this game, of two types. First are two "Most" goals. They are worth 5 VPs each, and can change hands during the game.
Blue/Brown Worlds: goes to the player with the most Blue and/or Brown worlds (production or windfall) in their layout, as long as they have at least 3.
Military Strength: goes to the player with the greatest military strength, as long as they have at least 6.
There are also four "First" goals, worth 3 VPs each. They go to the first player to meet the stated condition.
Goods: First player to have four goods on their layout at the same time.
Alien: First player to have three Alien cards (cards with "Alien" in the title) in their layout.
Discard: First player to have to discard down to their hand limit at round end.
Status: First player to play a 6-cost development.

How to Win at Monopoly and Lose All Your Friends.
That was a great article but mostly I love that the first comment I saw when I got to the bottom was
I like playing Settlers of Catan because it is a sophisticated game where you trade resources except Kevin WHO WON'T TRADE FUCKING SHEEP!
Oh, Kevin.
He's baaaaahd that way, I guess.
I've never played Settlers.
it's a favorite of mine. Haven't played in awhile.

I have the orders for Round 1! And they are:
Connie Neil: Phase II - Develop
Laga: Phase IV ($) - Consume (Trade)
omnis: Phase I (+1/+1) - Explore (draw +1 card, keep +1 card)
chrismg: Phase III - Settle
There's a lot of playing to one's strengths there. We will have every phase from I to IV, starting with Explore. omnis chose this one, and with the bonus lookie-lou from his Separatist Colony, he looks at 5 and keeps 2. Connie and Laga both get the bog standard look at 2, keep 1 deal. chrismg gets a bump from Doomed World; he looks at 3 and keeps 1.
Everyone, when you're ready, please let me know which card(s) you keep. You can also let me know if it affects your COs for Phases II and/or III.

Gotta love it when it's an all skate! Everyone plays!
