I can help if we go for the check. But it is a pretty high risk, so I'd be ok with option 2 if Athena was. We should be able to get her back in the skies by the time her turn comes around again if we need to.

Option 2 it is! There is a die roll to determine Athena's health. Everyone passes on interrupts:

Finally, the jump track advances. That concludes Athena's turn, and she still holds 11 cards. She discards:

This discard means that she draws a mutiny card. Zarek may no longer be Admiral, but he still sanctions all mutinous activity in the fleet. Options are going out. Mutineer Zarek, when yoyu're ready, please let me know which card to give Athena.
