It's not worth the cards right now to attempt to save Food. Compared to Pop, we've got plenty. We may need those cards on a more critical check, not to mention the utility of Scouts and SPs.
BSG (Cottle)
I agreen with Cain.
BSG
We have a Go-Betweens agreement (Cottle and Cain). Given the crew's consensus, Leoben agrees, and chooses option 2: Lose 1 Food.
Finally, the raiders and jump track both advance. That concludes Leoben's turn. Baltar's cards are going out. Baltarnate, when you're ready, please post your move and action.

Well, we seem to be at an impasse. I can move to Leoben and grab his token, but I can't Miracle until after Hoshi's turn at the earliest. I can move there and XO Leoben to do more Repairs, and wait for Cain to XO me. I can head to Comms, and try to keep 2 ships out of harm's way. Or, if someone has a plan to reduce the chance of instant death, I can Push The Button again.
BSG (Cain)
Even with a plan, the chance of instant death is too risky to take, I think. Flip of the coin, really. If someone had Calculations, then maybe it would be worth a try to go out with glory.
So here's the thing. Worst case scenario, you get a Raider activation on your Crisis. If you do that, Hoshi activates Raiders and we die. That means our top priority is saving those 2 ships so that in the worst case, we only lose 1 ship. Of course, if it's a 2 Pop ship, we still die.
The other option is to go to Main Batteries and try to take out those Raiders before they get to the civvies. If you clear Sector 3, then the best Hoshi could do would be to get the other 2 Raiders into Sector 4. At which point I could try to take out the rest. We do have offensive capabilities.
Maybe you should XO Cottle out of Sickbay to go to Main Batteries?
BSG (Leoben)
Or move to command and get a ship into Sector 4.
BSG(Doctor Decider)
Not Command, it can't provide enough cover. Main Batteries might work, but it's still a crapshoot.
Still....
I Move to the Hangar Deck, where hopefully the Admiral will order me to miracle it up, and Play XO-1 on Cottle.
Doc-Doc, I would say head to Comms and move two of those ships.
BSG
Just a quick state-of-play: Cottle had put in COs for what he would do if XO'd; however, that was before Leoben and Baltar made their suggestions. In fairness, I've requested his confirmation as to what he'd like to do considering everyone's advice.
