Mdm President, those cards weren't mine. I played none. The two folks in vipers are clear of the extra negative card (assuming both deck cards were negative).

Apollo, I'm worried one or more of our leadership are bread burners.

Again with the YG checks. I can't help much.

Boomer, Apollo. Great shooting, you Raptor weenie. Change of plan. Engage your viper's "oscillation overthruster" and try and fly through the Basestar. Seriously, all vipers have oscillation overthrusters and you'll do this great micron electroscope effect thingie and then come out the other side. It'll be fine. Really.

Baltar, Apollo. Fire up the bunsen burner, we're about to give your test a try. Madam President? Admiral? Anyone care to be the first subject?

BSG I'm going to try the crisis, but I suggest we intentionally tank it. We've had a miraculous first round; we've nearly gotten through the turn without a single bad effect, so a -1 morale is sustainable. Plus, it will give us some insight as to the current loyalty of our leadership, which can't hurt. Also, I hate to discard ten cards as a group, if for no reason other than I don't particularly want to spend another entire turn fighting cylon raiders and crises with two cards in my hand.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Skill check it is. Twelve hours for people to play interrupts or pass on them. You can also send me conditional orders for card plays.

We are, and it does. We're playing the Battlestar Galactica boardgame. Sean's offered to run Republic of Rome next.

Wait, bunsen burner? I thought this was some sort of gom jabbar thingy.

What's our overall likelihood of passing? Like I said, I can only help a tiny bit. Before I agree with my (cylon) son to intentionally fail, I want to know the odds.

Also, what would Saul do? Because I'll do the opposite.

Wow, Dad, defensive much? Something you don't want us to know? I always thought it was a little odd that WD-40 was your cologne of choice...

Re: the check, Baltar can help a little, I can help a little, you can help (perhaps) a little, Boomer cannot help, and Madam President continues to be almost completely out-of-touch, so who knows there. I wouldn't be surprised that we were only a third of our way to success with that kind of commitment.

But see, this is the trend that Boomer spotted, and I can't help but think that she is thinking better than she shoots -- Roslin continues to squat in Caprica One like a spider in a web, and is holding a stack o'cards that she seems disinclined to spend. Likewise, I've heard an endless litany from you about how you can't help with this check or that.

Now, I think to myself, "Self -- what if suddenly the Old Man or Roslin start falling all over themselves to help? Why would that be? What could motivate them to suddenly get all fired up about passing this check? What would that tell me about their motivations?"

The way I figure it, a -1 morale is a very small price to pay to prove your loyalty, Admiral, Madam President, so why would you want to keep that from happening?

:: boomer luvs Apollo ::

In the meantime. You want me to do WHAT?

:: looks at cards on table :: Lucy, you got some splaining to do. First might be a lesson on how to hit a target. (do I really need to roll 8 or better on an 8 sided die???)

You'll find an Attack Table on the back of the rules, it covers all possible combos of attacker and target. And yes, teeny Vipers against big bad basestars get difficult odds. To hit a basestar with a Viper, you need to roll an 8 (or better; you can get +2 to the roll with a Strategic Planning interrupt.) On the plus side, it doesn't shoot back (at Vipers, anyway).

You have better odds against Raiders - you only need 3+ to hit one. Against heavy raiders you need 7+.
