Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

So I realized I've never played any of the Metroid games (first console we owned was a Sega Genesis, which limited my NES playing to friends' houses or babysitting younger cousins that owned one.) and have been trying to correct that by playing the first one.

Wow, do I suck.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

BSG

Everyone passes on interrupts.

Die roll: 8. Two hits! Let's check the damage:

Structural Damage
Collateral Damage

Collateral Damage is a new damage token used with the Ionian Nebula. If you draw this token, your shot destroys up to three raiders as well as damaging the basestar. In this instance, there are no raiders in Sector 1, so we just damage the basestar. Thanks to the structural damage, any future shots on this basestar are at +2.

Chief, when you're ready, please post your second action.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

BSG (Gaeta)

They just don't build basestars like they used to.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

BSG (President)

Again.. "A" Game. We are doing OK.

I think our hypothetical second cylon missed a great opportunity to reveal so I'm going to move forward with the assumption that Gaeta is on his own.

I think you are right, that it would have been a great reveal time. Maybe the Gods have smiled upon us, and blessed us with just one Toaster! May we have smooth sailing from here on out!

Good, that's just what they want you to think.

Don't bet on it, buster.

Kalshane, you know "Nintendo Hard" became a cliche for a reason, right?

BSG

Does the Structural Damage actually do anything when I'm using CIC instead of Weapons Control?

Yes, the Structural Damage will add 2 to an attack from Pegasus CIC as well.

Pegasus can still be damaged on a roll of 1. The roll may be modified by an SP, which will make it a guaranteed hit. Everyone, please pass or play.

Oh, I know. The original Castlevania remains one of the hardest games I've actually beaten (the Grim Reaper is probably a tougher fight than Dracula in that game).

I think I'm getting a first-hand lesson in that modern games aren't actually any shorter than the ones we played as a kid, they're just a lot more forgiving. The length of the old games came from having to replay hours 1-5 over and over again when you keep getting killed in hour 6.
