I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

not your mom's socks.

I'm looking for a couple of readers interested in reading a mid-length short story or two. Genre is speculative fiction to scifi-ish. Profile addy should be good.

I'll do it, but I won't be able to get to it before the weekend. You can use my profile e-mail.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Sox, can I play? Profile addy is good.

I've decided to get back into writing fiction. I 'm currently working on a sci-fi story about some hyper-intelligent aliens who ignore us humans because they don't consider us intelligent.

Also, what word processors do folks use for creative writing? Currently I'm using Open Office, but I'm wondering if Word would be better. (I'm using Macs.) Does Word (or other word processors) have the ability to show you all the edits you've made? Like, if I make some deletions and then later want to see what I deleted, is that still available somehow?

Because books.

In Word, I think that works if you're in Review mode.

Says the woman who still edits on paper ...

Also, yay!

Word can do that with 'track changes' as can Open Office though I don't know how off-hand.

In Word 2007 you can also compare two documents which I actually prefer to tracking changes.

I'll have to look into that when I get home. I like Word, but I'd love it if Open Office met all my needs.

Certainly Tommy! Plan is to send out a couple Friday pm.

I use Word, and a lovely Mac widget called Circus Ponies Notebook. Because I like to play with stickers and annotate.

I've done change tracking with Open Office so I know it's there, but I recall it not being especially intuitive.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'll read a story or two if you send them my way, Sox. Profile addy is good, or we can work something out Dropbox-wise.
