Titles are always the hardest thing about a book for me.
The Great Write Way, Act Three: Where's the gun?
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
I totally bogart song titles for book titles.
I had a brief moment of panic last night when I thought I had lost everything I did yesterday, but I figured out that I accidentally saved to a different name. Luckily I figured it out quickly, that's a bad feeling.
I'm still working on 58 but I've gotten past the second scene and I'm ready to plunge into the third wherein the MC has to break some very awkward news to her parents.
Another scene down in 58, I'm hoping to make a push to get 58 and 59 done by the end of the weekend. If can do that and get a start on 60, then I might be able to get this first revision done by the end of next weekend.
Of course getting to the ending will bring up the whole issue of whether or not to change it. I'm still thinking I won't, but I'll have to see what readers think.
You might try just letting it rest for a week or two, as well, and then giving it a reread yourself. It's amazing how much you catch when you have some time away, everything from pace to characterization to word choice.
That sounds like a good idea. I intend to make an audio version, I pick up a lot listening to it.
I'll have a bit of time before diving into the next revision. There's some groundwork I need to do to get ready.
I *always* pick up things when I read aloud for my critique group, especially repeated words and missing ones. Reading aloud is so useful, but I don't have the patience to do it all in one shot.
I do that every day with the script...I used to feel more embarrassed about until Denis Leary said he did the same thing. FWIW. Gud, how far did you get with the script? Cause there's a new version now.
I can get to the document from here, so I just sent what I have. It's not great feedback since I don't know the characters or show.
I especially liked the bit with ARI and MRS. ARI, I thought that was good and funny.
I can look at the new version if you want, but the same caveats: don't know the characters and it will be slow.
