Because books.

I think certain areas of publishing are still doing fine, and YA just happens to be one of them. And the areas of publishing that are suffering are the same ones that have been following that curve for a couple of years.

The economy does make a difference, of course, but publishing goes through this all the time. It's very cyclical.
