I think certain areas of publishing are still doing fine, and YA just happens to be one of them. And the areas of publishing that are suffering are the same ones that have been following that curve for a couple of years.
The economy does make a difference, of course, but publishing goes through this all the time. It's very cyclical.
Publishing is a temperamental bitch on a good day.

It's wonderful to hear all the good news.
I'm hoping to get to the soul crushing rejection phase at some point. Right now, I'm just trying to find revision time and hoping for feedback when I open up my inbox (alas, none recently).
