Well, the stuff is classy enough to pass as a couch, should you need one. It's the most I've spent on any piece of furniture to date , but I'm well pleased with it. Mission-style in a rosewood finish (ie dark black-reddish like mahogany maybe?) It doesn't look like a college futon at all.

Now to decide on a cover other than batiked wall hanging. Hopefully you and msbelle will help me out with that. I've kinda whelmed.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Bummer Kat, I love Crystal Cove.

We're going to Catalina for 4th of July. My sister has been going for the past few years, we finally decided to join them.

And for my last random comment: Frances got her dance recital costume today. A sequined kitty costume in black and pink. It is obscenely cute. I PROMISE this time I'll take pictures.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, cutiepie Francie kittie! We demand pictures. Yes.

Got my hair cut today. I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to buy some UPF clothing, and was headed down the sidewalk to Best Buy to look for summer idle time gaming software, and I got my hair cut.

It wasn't entirely impromptu; I'd been months overdue for the cut, ever since my Best Stylist Evah disappeared on me. But I wasn't planning to get it cut right then, thus the not having the Aeon Flux or the Friday Night Lights photos to hand. But it's an okay cut nonetheless, and I think I can conservative it up enough for the summer's fundraising. We shall see, I guess.

Theo, your stoop is gorgeous and I adore it!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

sarameg, we bought a nice new futon, too, and wondered what to do with the old one. When they delivered the new one, we asked the guys if they'd take the old one for a fee and they did for like $30 or $40 bucks.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I AM SO FUCKING TIRED.

But I succeeded in driving my 49 year old convertible to Chicago - after we spent a few hours trying to get it started (turns out the new battery my dad put in was too small).

Did I ever mention that I hate driving at night when I'm very tried?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I went to the show at the Grand Lake this afternoon!

The guy played the theme music on the Wurlitzer!

But first I had Arizmendi pizza, NOM NOM NOM.

We went to Spettro, and you were right! The food was excellent.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Glad to hear the drive went OK, tommy!

My porch is still standing in the morning light -- not that I was worried it wouldn't be, but it's still nice and shiny. The neighbors are probably holding little celebrations.

Sitting out in the backyard, reading my paper, eating and talking to a friend, I had an attack of White Liberal Guilt while the workers kept up a steady stream of work noises, but then I reminded myself they were being paid very well for working on a Saturday, and pretty obviously glad about it.

hip deep in pie

I think I have brunch plans today, but the plans haven't actually been communicated to me. Ummm....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I woke up at work-time this morning, which was completely unnecessary. But I stayed in bed and finished my book, so that's something.

I want to go see Iron Man this morning, but the 11:15 show is open captioned, which is cool, but will that be annoying? Or should I really go to the movies at 10:15 in the morning? Edit: Huh! I just looked at some other theaters, and there are matinee prices in Manhattan! Before noon, but that's OK. I guess I'll do that.
