I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

sarameg, we bought a nice new futon, too, and wondered what to do with the old one. When they delivered the new one, we asked the guys if they'd take the old one for a fee and they did for like $30 or $40 bucks.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I AM SO FUCKING TIRED.

But I succeeded in driving my 49 year old convertible to Chicago - after we spent a few hours trying to get it started (turns out the new battery my dad put in was too small).

Did I ever mention that I hate driving at night when I'm very tried?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I went to the show at the Grand Lake this afternoon!

The guy played the theme music on the Wurlitzer!

But first I had Arizmendi pizza, NOM NOM NOM.

We went to Spettro, and you were right! The food was excellent.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Glad to hear the drive went OK, tommy!

My porch is still standing in the morning light -- not that I was worried it wouldn't be, but it's still nice and shiny. The neighbors are probably holding little celebrations.

Sitting out in the backyard, reading my paper, eating and talking to a friend, I had an attack of White Liberal Guilt while the workers kept up a steady stream of work noises, but then I reminded myself they were being paid very well for working on a Saturday, and pretty obviously glad about it.

I think I have brunch plans today, but the plans haven't actually been communicated to me. Ummm....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I woke up at work-time this morning, which was completely unnecessary. But I stayed in bed and finished my book, so that's something.

I want to go see Iron Man this morning, but the 11:15 show is open captioned, which is cool, but will that be annoying? Or should I really go to the movies at 10:15 in the morning? Edit: Huh! I just looked at some other theaters, and there are matinee prices in Manhattan! Before noon, but that's OK. I guess I'll do that.

Okay, an hour in the garden, and still no word on brunch...

Because books.

Maybe they're still frying the bacon!
