Crow pose! Yeah, the teachers referred to it a lot as bakasana. I never held it for more than a moment, but I did get to the point where I really was balanced properly, and could feel it. Practically my only moment of yoga triumph to date. Then I had to quit because of my shoulder and haven't gotten back to it yet.
I gained big time karma points today by helping a friend finish painting her apartment. Now to figure out what to do with the rest of my evening....
Good lord Matt. Get a drink and possibly two. Hairspray will help with ink stains, best if you can get the fabric off the couch to run water clear through it.
Kat - I wore jeans and two t-shirts and addidas yoga shoes.
I am in such a yoga envy place. I need to see if the Y has any classes that I could take on Sat or Sun.
I am also in burb envy. Our friends we went to hang with today have a house with about the same square footage as our apt, but then this nice yard. I want a yard, but then I think of having to drive and possibly find a new job and and, staying put is a better deal.
I love my yard except I'm not so keen on the upkeep. But you've seen my backyard. It doesn't need a mower, it need a rototiller.
well yeah, that is the other side of it. I really want a yard AND all the free time I'd need to keep it up with a veggie garden and flower beds. The whole image is pure fantasy which is why staying put needs to become my mantra and I need to see the joy in staying put.
My parents just put sod in their postage-stamp front yard. It's kind of hilarious -- really classes up the place in a way it's never been before!
x-post with Bitches cause I needs to know in case anyone asks:
I made a salad for Mother's Day brunch tomorrow (Panzanella). Delicious, but I'm not sure how to pronounce Panzanella! Is it pan-zan-AYAH or pan-zan-ELLAH?
My brother may defend his dissertation in Sept. Eeek! I want him to go post-doc-ing to whoever can help him most, but if it were here, it would be AWESOME. Not holding out hope for that, but still. I'm good at ridiculous hope schemes.
And if he lands in southern CA (his ideal) I'm so making you S.CA people help him. And be traumatized by him.
I think it's Italian, not Spanish, so pan-zan-el-la.
Yep. Ella. For extra Italian cred, the "z" is like "pizza" rather than "zounds".
And he has a kid whose ages are close to my kids' ages.
I want him to be here because then maybe we'd see you (and your parents!) more.
