Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I love my yard except I'm not so keen on the upkeep. But you've seen my backyard. It doesn't need a mower, it need a rototiller.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

well yeah, that is the other side of it. I really want a yard AND all the free time I'd need to keep it up with a veggie garden and flower beds. The whole image is pure fantasy which is why staying put needs to become my mantra and I need to see the joy in staying put.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My parents just put sod in their postage-stamp front yard. It's kind of hilarious -- really classes up the place in a way it's never been before!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

x-post with Bitches cause I needs to know in case anyone asks:

I made a salad for Mother's Day brunch tomorrow (Panzanella). Delicious, but I'm not sure how to pronounce Panzanella! Is it pan-zan-AYAH or pan-zan-ELLAH?

My brother may defend his dissertation in Sept. Eeek! I want him to go post-doc-ing to whoever can help him most, but if it were here, it would be AWESOME. Not holding out hope for that, but still. I'm good at ridiculous hope schemes.

And if he lands in southern CA (his ideal) I'm so making you S.CA people help him. And be traumatized by him.

I think it's Italian, not Spanish, so pan-zan-el-la.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yep. Ella. For extra Italian cred, the "z" is like "pizza" rather than "zounds".

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

And he has a kid whose ages are close to my kids' ages.

I want him to be here because then maybe we'd see you (and your parents!) more.

Hah! That's exactly what I told him about a west coast thing- I'd see him every TG no matter what when I'd visit my friends! (eta: it'd mean me getting to get more peoples in less travels which is a big thing for me. OTOH, you'd get my brother!)

If he ended up here, I think my parent might take a detour to the east coast for a bit. It is post-doc-ing, however. Not permanent.

In any case, wherever he lands, his biggest concern is school districts for D. He starts kinder this year.

Um, so despite the fact it is 11:30 at night, I have no kids, T-the neighborgirl brought me flowers in a pot. To wish me a happy mother's day.

I think I'm gonna go cry now.
