I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

As usual, mr. flea is working both days this weekend. Sunday I am trying to set up a play date for everyone (matching family); Saturday we have gotten into a nice routine of walking to the Farmer's Market. I am fully expecting that mr. flea will not do anything for mother's day. I think Casper is making something at school.

weekend

Sat - going to the burbs to visit friends tomorrow - brunch, kid's playing in the yard, talking to adults

Sun - church, no idea what's the what for Mother's Day, laundry, possibly the playground with mac - or if bad weather making a cardboard box Mach 5 or 6.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The headmaster at our secondary school would always end every cautionary tale by telling us that he knew a child who had done the forbidden thing and lost an eye. I always figured that the town with his previous school was full of people wearing eyepatches.

Heh. Every day would be Pirate Day! Arrrr. Good to see you in Natter!

Scola, is this another date with the same lady as before?

Yeah for dating Tom!

Actually, I'm freaking out a bit here--last week, I made a vet appointment for Amarna today to have the lump on her back looked at. Well, the lump's gone now, but the past 36 hours or so, she's been extremely lethargic. I had picked up a new bag of her Iams on Wednesday for her Wednesday night feeding, which she didn't get until after I returned from working at the bookstore at 11:00 pm. So, the fact she still had some of it left over at 7:00 last night wasn't that surprising, but her not meeting me at the door last night, begging to get more food was. She stayed curled up on one of the chairs in the living room sleeping instead of eating or walking all over me, which is also strange.

She did eventually head over and nibble a bit, as well as curl up on top of me for some petting, which was more normal, but then she stayed in the living room when I went to bed (which she never does), then curled up under the bed instead of joining me for some petting on top of the bed. When I got up this morning, her food dish was barely touched, as was her water. Now I know something's wrong, and I'm worried.

Coding and Sleeping

Children have to be sources of joy because otherwise they would be left in baskets to be raised by wolves.

That's how Rome got made.

Go Team Scola!

I have to admit I love having kids although sometimes I'm sort of jealous of the grandparents who get to have the kids and then give them back.

I don't know about my weekend, Sunday is pretty much tied up with Mother's day stuff. I'll probably bake a cake for Mother's day, more for the kids than anyone else. Saturday probably will just be cleaning up around the house and routine errands. I'd like to take the kids to a park or something, but that will have to wait until Em gets her cast off otherwise I'll be spending the whole time telling her not to do things.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, Kathy. That does sound scary.

no idea what's the what for Mother's Day,

I heard mac might have a secret in his room.

Go Tom!!

My plans for the weekend involve excavating my apartment, going to the library, and sleeping. Possibly making soup and/or bread. Actually, if I make both, there's a meal right there!
