Wesley: Feng Shui. Gunn: Right. What's that mean again? Wesley: That people will believe anything. Actually, in this place, Feng Shui will probably have enormous significance. I'll align my furniture the wrong way and suddenly catch fire or turn into a pudding.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You know you can make popcorn in a pan on the stove, right?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Quinoa flour? Hmm. Interesting. I'm sure it's around here, though I haven't seen it either. Right now I'm going to stick to rice and oat flours, because I have those in house. It seems that each new recipe requires a different damned flour.

eta: Jesse, that way lies...well, I'll probably give and try it. But I want my hot air!

For the vanilla gluten-free cupcakes, the flour mixture has tapioca flour, white rice flour, quinoa flour, and a choice of either corn flour or almond flour. The chocolate ones have just the first three flours.

I'm pretty sure my Whole Foods has quinoa. What I'd really like to find is t'eff, which would give me a shot at trying to make injera at home.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Online teff shopping: [link] . I've also often seen it sold in Ethiopian restaurants.

I've seen teff at Whole Foods. I've also seen whole quinoa there, but never quinoa flour, though I can't really say I've been looking. For a while, the Watergate Safeway was carrying teff, but I haven't seen it there lately.

Our wings are not tired.

Sigh. I miss Hugo's. And I also loved a place called the Upstage Cafe on Wilshire that has long been replaced by a Denny's. It was in the Wiltern and had splendid ometettes.

Any LA-istas remember a place on Melrose in the 80's called "Gasoline Alley"? My gawd I spent more nights at that place...and I was so broke. Their little tiny mochas were $2.75 which is a fortune, but they were so good. And Sharon (the owner) was awesome.

I miss LA a lot sometimes. Can't believe I haven't been back in almost 2 years.
