They were giving away cute little glass bottles of coke across the street from the entrance to the Long Beach Grand Prix. You were not allowed to bring glass bottles into the race confines. By the end of the day the sidewalks surrounding the trash cans near the entrance were coated with a thick layer of discarded coke. It was nasty.
Thinking things through is *hard*.
I know some Buffistas know of hotels in downtown Chicago that aren't terribly expensive. Scola, possibly? My sister and I are getting stuck planning a bachelorette party.

The Best Western Grant Park and River North hotels are both in the $150 range, definitely affordable for downtown.
hmm - it should still be open, right? Maybe that and a trip to the big park with friends.

I paid about that amount to stay at the Chicago Comfort Inn last year. Plus, it had complimentary breakfast with a Belgian waffle maker!

I wish I could remember the name of the budget hotel on LSD at (I think) Ontario. I thought it was a Days Inn but I've had no luck searching their site. I often heard it was suprisingly cheap but this would have been at least eight years ago.
