Attention, work rant ahead:
I really hate being told something is required at the last minute!
A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I would be interested in training for one of our databases. Since I have written basic databases in the past, and generally can figure these things out for myself, I said I would be only if it was on site. I specifically said I was not interested in long-distance WebX training.
Fast forward to today when I am told (as the WebX meeting is starting) that they are waiting for me and that this is required. So I just spent an hour with my phone to my ear watching this demo for a system that most people here could figure out in 2 minutes. Le sigh.

Dear DH,
I appreciate that you don't feel well and may be developing allergies. But I've been handling kids non-stop for two whole days now and we're leaving you here by your lonesome this weekend.
So you can play Civilization while watching PTI in you underwear for three days.
But until we pull out of the driveway, takes some Claritin, suck it up and help me.
Thanks and Love you,
Me
I had the house to myself last weekend and it was awesome. I did do some cleaning, grocery shopping, some work on the lawn mower, and cooked dinner for my wife, kids and in-laws when they got back from their trip; but it was still awesome. Having the house to myself is a very, very rare occasion even when talking about like a couple of hours.
That probably wasn't helpful.
I banish Gud to living for a solid week in my old shower, watching the ceiling close in.
As part of my review process, I have to take a hospital procedures exam (please not I do not actually work in a hospital, near patients and I am not a health care professional) that consists of questions like this
What is considered professional misconduct?
a. Using appropriate infection control techniques.
b. Practicing while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
c. Delegating responsibilities only to professionally qualified staff.
d. Not harassing, abusing, or intimidating a patient.
How could you possibly get this question wrong! and there are 67 of them!
Gud, I banish you to my house so I can take a bath in peace, sleep as long as I want and futz around on the internet, eating chocolate and Ben & Jerry's by the pint.
It's for work and they're being picked up. (The pizzas.)
