Middle of the back, actually, which I can vouch really hurts. Two games ago the opposing shortstop nailed me on the spine with an errant throw during warmups.
It was a useful reminder, because I had forgotten that when you get hit like that it doesn't just hurt, but you get a huge shock of adrenaline to the body which is really unsettling. Your nervous system is basically screaming, "Trauma!" and running around hysterically flapping its dendrites.

Randomness - On my way back home my car turned the long awaited 123456 mileage mark. I had planned ahead and hit the trip meter 78.9 miles in advance for the perfecta. Alas, I was on a busy stretch of I-95 in Fort Lauderdale when it happened and knew I would never be able to get back on if I stopped on the shoulder. So I snapped a picture with my phone which is a complete blur. I suggested to my son that I needed to recreate the moment with a photomanip, but he declared that lame. He was sorry he missed the big occasion.
