What proportions?

Yes, white vinegar, the kind that you can buy in the gallon containers. I generally dillute by half, and sometimes add a bit of either dish soap or essential oil, depending on what I'm doing. A good source for this stuff is [link] .

You know when you begin to emerge from a long illness and get your first clear look at the state of your home? Yeah.

My cold is still REALLY bad, AND I gave it to The Boy, so we've basically been doing the bare minimum required to keep vermin out of the house, and let me tell you. Two dogs, 2 cats, 2 sick people who aren't cooking -- it's like a poster for a hepatitis vaccination.

I got the cold Monday, gave the cold to The Boy on Wednesday, and if he gets better before I do (which is looking likely) I am going to be PISSED.

Just finished three loads of laundry: kitchen linens, quilts, and bed linens. Everything folded and put where it ought to be. And now, exhausted.

I am both impressed and highly envious of Trudy's huge and spacious residence.

Am presently sitting as far from the door to my studio as it's possible to be without being on the balcony, and I could still hit it with a shoe from here if I needed to, even though I'm a crap shot.

They were just packets of Mahatma flavored rice, Daniel.

...see, while everyone else was thinking 'mold!' and 'nacho cheese', here I had a startled moment of wondering what the hell the Mahatma was supposed to taste like, and why on earth anyone would make rice taste like him, and whether there were other flavours like Mother Theresa and The Buddha. Just a moment.

Also, I twice misread Omnis's houselves as housewives. And still thought it was a good idea, and that I'd treat her well and set her free if only she'd cook and clean and all that.

My old place was 196 square feet. Total. This really feels palatial.

I happy doing all my own cooking. It would just be nice if there were someone else to clean up afterwards. (Growing up, we always had arguments about the cooking/cleaning rules. Some people thought that the person who cooked should also clean, because if you make the mess, you clean it up. Others felt that if one person cooked and everybody ate, then a fair division of labor would say that someone who didn't cook would clean up. I am firmly in the latter camp, but I live alone, so I've got to both cook and clean. House elves would be a very nice addition.)

I generally follow the "if you cook, you don't clean up" rule, but it can get pretty lopsided. My sister does all the cooking, and so never cleans up. So now she's become one of these people who uses 50 million plates/pans/containers for what she's doing because she's not the one cleaning them.

I'm in the latter camp, but since I LOVE cooking and really don't like cleaning it somehow seems unfair.
