I dig Julie Kenner's vampire books -- one series is YA, and the other is adult. They're kind of fluffy, but really fun, and the quality of her writing really improves as the series go on.
Also, Alyssa Day's Warriors of Poseidon/Atlantis books are TOTAL fluff, but they're like what the Anita Blake books *should* have been. There's plot, and witches and were-people and dudes from Atlantis, and The Sex, and vampires and other paranormal shit.
But mostly, what makes them way better than the Anita Blake books is, as I mentioned, the plot. They're not just excuses to write implausible (and un-sexy) sex scenes.

beth, they do get better. The first one felt clunky to me, but the writing gets a lot better as the series goes on.
I read the hot new teenlit vampire sensation Twilight' a couple of months ago, and it just about made my head explode.

Werid Dreams: Last night I was seeing my cousins' play in their band (not unusual) but Gerard Way was there wearing a horrible red track jacket and we went for a walk afterwards (quite unusual). Yikes, I was outside enjoying a glorious (if a little to hot all of a sudden - 86 degrees!)day, and then I saw a man have what looked like an epliectic seizure. Luckily, somebody was right on her cell phone to 911, and someone else was helping her, so there wasn't much more to be done. That's some scary stuff though. Count me as being alternately amused/frustrated by the Twilight books. Nothing says loving like doing somebody's laundry for unlife.
I think the pages are coated in crack, though. For a few days, I couldn't stop reading, though the politics make me wanna cry.
I'm at the school my mom works at and I just held the cutest little baby. The baby's mother was here to pick up her other children. Such a sweetie.
