I am exactly meara re. Facebook. It is also good for when I need to contact my college-aged cousins. And for sending out announcements about events.
I love texting AND talking on the phone. They each serve their purpose. Am having hilarious text convo right now with bandmate about how we are going to do the whole 140 mile bike ride we're doing in May wheelie-style w/ banana seats and handlebar tassles and "cock rockin beats"...it's not really a conversation we'd have over the phone.
myspace has annoying interface but is good for music stuff.
Oh! And then there is Twitter...which I haven't quite found a use for but it's funny.
I can't even figure out IM.
And I am a Computer Professional.
Well, ok, not really. I'm very specialized.
One thing I love about the Noah & Grace pix is how one or the other of them looks highly dubious of their sib in most of the shots of the two of them. It's classic siblingism.
That's so weird. I think my phone fear is greater than all y'alls phone fear, because I don't text because it's ON MY PHONE. I mean, I have a phone, but I don't give anyone its number because then they might CALL ME! And sometimes they do, but I DON'T ANSWER!
Except my mom. I talk on the phone to my mom all the time.
...
Possibly this is a problem.
Motherfucking GIANT FLYING ROACHES goddamn warm weather fucking south with its GIANT FUCKING BUGS
Dana, honey, you live in Houston. Home of the Motherfuckinghugegoddamnfuckingflying roaches.
I know, I lived in the land of all that minus flying. Manhole covers used to scatter alarmingly at dusk in my river valley.
And I screeched and ran.
I'm just glad jerusalem crickets can't fly.
There was a large dead roach in my work bathroom all afternoon. Better than a large live roach, I guess!
Also, I got a phone call today from a number I didn't recognize, so I didn't answer, and the person didn't leave a message. So of course I googled the number, and found it was a friend of mine calling from work! Luckily, she just sent me an email.
My mother hates the phone too, this is one of the reasons I love Mom. She also hates the computer, but her DH reads my emails to her and types her responses. He's a doll. MIL loves the phone and will say to me a dozen times in the conversation, "oh, I know you don't like the phone," but does she hang up, no.
