I don't text regularly because it costs me $0.15 to send and receive texts. I've found it useful at times, though.

I text from my cell phone a lot. I have a full qwerty keyboard, which makes it easier and it's included in my package, so it doesn't cost anything.
Plus, it's easier when I don't really want to talk to someone.
I do think it's becoming increasingly popular.

Cashmere is me, down to the full qwerty keyboard. Before full qwerty, I could barely text Good Job!, though.
