"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I just got 7901 on Word Sandwich. That's probably the best I will ever do, so I should quit while I'm ahead.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

And even though the current push to make it "official" is Batman-movie driven, Gotham was a nickname for NYC about 100 years before DC Comics ever existed.

I was going to say. This is why "Gotham City" can't be trademarked.

Dunkin Donuts is opening in my town on April 7!

Jon Krasinski was on Leno last night (I don't even watch Leno, or The Office) and he was explaining about how he came from New England (and had actually done a couple of commercials for them, in one of which he played a hockey player getting the snot beaten out of him) and he proceeded to lament the total lack of Dunkies in southern California. He said, "I think Sacramento is just too long a commute for your favorite cup of coffee, you know?"

He is planning to bring the power of the Dunkies to Los Angeles, just as soon as the acting thing doesn't work out.

Punishingly Intricate

Isn't Baltimore "The City that Reads" ?

That's like three slogans ago. From Mayor Kurt Schmoke's term (erika, he's the one who promoted the idea of legalizing drugs as a crime-fighting tool a la Bunny Colvin. And he showed up on the show as...maybe the health commisioner? I don't remember exactly)

I got over 10000 once, mainly because one of my regular narrowing down words was the word, and I got it on the second guess. I've had to walk away from Word Sandwich, my wrists were starting to ache.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

The standard thinking these days is that Metropolis is NYC.

Except sometimes DC comics refer explicitly to NYC. So....not sure.

Bludhaven is also in Jersey.

Was. Now it's a crater. In Jersey.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Bludhaven is also in Jersey.

Was. Now it's a crater. In Jersey.

Oh. I'm way behind on comics.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Or is that Chicago? (Trust me to ask the important questions.)

Yeah, I thought I read that Chicago was Gotham, and that's why Batman Begins shot in Chicago.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

It's a great line, but people tend to think it was spontaneous and shit, but it wasn't. Totally rehearsed. (Also totally deserved, but it's not the paradigm of extemporaneous speaking that people like to claim that it is.)

Man, this is like the grown-up version of hearing about Santa. "Lloyd Bentsen doesn't ACTUALLY come down your chimney bearing magical extemporaneous snark... But the snark was true. We all have that snark in our hearts. YOU'RE part of ths snark now..."
