Bludhaven is also in Jersey.

Was. Now it's a crater. In Jersey.

Oh. I'm way behind on comics.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Or is that Chicago? (Trust me to ask the important questions.)

Yeah, I thought I read that Chicago was Gotham, and that's why Batman Begins shot in Chicago.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

It's a great line, but people tend to think it was spontaneous and shit, but it wasn't. Totally rehearsed. (Also totally deserved, but it's not the paradigm of extemporaneous speaking that people like to claim that it is.)

Man, this is like the grown-up version of hearing about Santa. "Lloyd Bentsen doesn't ACTUALLY come down your chimney bearing magical extemporaneous snark... But the snark was true. We all have that snark in our hearts. YOU'RE part of ths snark now..."

No Gotham is definitely in New Jersey. And, according to some of my searches, Metropolis is in Delaware. NYC is in New York. Which makes sense.

...

Delaware? Huh.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I love Guess That Buffista. I love the BRQG.

Yay to a nice birthday after all, Allyson. And that swimsuit is adorable. The little dangling flowers are cute.

In my news about me, I am having the best day! I tossed and turned all night last night because of a variety of things, but the biggest of which was that I broke my (brand new) washer. I tried to wash my mop head in it, which I swear it said on the mop package I could do. However, it disintegrated into umpteen million little strands of mop and the washer threw up its hands and quit.

I got on the internet, thank you internet! And found what the error code meant, drain pump filter clogged. The internet told me I could fix it myself, even if not particularly handy, which is true of me. But I was scared, so I decided I'd call service. I did this morning, and they said, well, you could probably fix it, but we can send someone out if you want. So I decided to woman up.

I went to town, bought the socket set I needed, and still had time to get coffee before I had to return my car. Returned the car, got a ride back no problem (yay Enterprise, they'll pick me up) and tackled the washer. I followed the incredibly detailed instructions from some guy on the internet (thank you, jeffall!) for which I am infinitely grateful. It turned out to be a really really simple thing to do. The biggest problem was pulling it forward out of the closet, 'cause it's kinda a tight fit to the door there.

But I am proud of myself for being able to do it and saving myself the service call (even though covered). And I did it before the SO gets home today so I'll still be able to launder the sheets so he has a nice bed to come home to.

I am homeowner, hear me, err, grunt!

Oh! And bonus, the girl at my new coffeeshop recognized me and knew my order. And when I said I didn't have enough spending money left for my order, recommended a peach latte which was a) delish and b) cheaper! I totally have a new "my coffeehouse," which, yay. They have delicious quiche there and today they had a gorgonzola & fig scone, but I couldn't buy it. After payday!

So now I am sipping peach latte and laundering sheets and working on work and I'm better from my cold and the weather is fine and the SO is coming home today and all is well.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

The slogan things? Stupid. Yeah, it's not the drug crime in Baltimore, it's people knowing it's there. Sheeit. Of course one of ours used to be "America's Best-Run City" I hope not. But we do have a Mayor Gordon...we should apply for "Gotham West"

Happy Birthday, Noah, Grace and K-Bug!

Delaware? Huh.

Lots of supervillians live in Delaware, it's the lack of usury restrictions.

Yeah, I always assumed Metropolis was...closer to Kansas. Like Chicago. But that's just superman, I haven't read the other comics.

Happy Birthday Noah and Grace adn K-Bug!

I have to call and set up a drug test--if I don't take it within two days, they might not employ me! Good thing I don't take drugs.
