Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Cities with self-confidence react differently to negative portrayals. There is a serious campaign in NY city to make "Gotham City" an official nickname.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

Personally, I'd have been no help at all: Baltimore: You Didn't Come Here To Hunt, Did You? I liked John Waters' which was something like "Come to Baltimore and get weird."(Too late.) And I liked "It's Baltimore, hon, duck!" which I think a real murder po-lice suggested.(But, again, nsm with the soft-soap there)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Happy Noah and Grace day! I hope you both continue to grow and prosper this year and every year.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Okay, the comics-geek in me is saying "That's AWESOME!"

The cynic in me is saying "Oh, how smart. 'Come to NYC: A Homicidal Clown May Kill You With A Giant Penny!'"

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

There is a serious campaign in NY city to make "Gotham City" an official nickname.

Er, one Queens councilman is a "serious campaign" now?

[eta: And even though the current push to make it "official" is Batman-movie driven, Gotham was a nickname for NYC about 100 years before DC Comics ever existed.]

Dunkin Donuts is opening in my town on April 7! We've been without a DD nearer than CARY for about TWO YEARS! I am so happy.

But it's metropolis, too, right? Or is that Chicago? (Trust me to ask the important questions.)

The standard thinking these days is that Metropolis is NYC. Gotham is in Jersey.

Bludhaven is also in Jersey.

I gather the DC writers don't think much of Jersey.

I suck at the BROQ name the Buffista game.

Noah is sitting on the table, eating Trader Joe's puffed "Veggie" Sticks. He loves those MORE than cheerios and MORE than the nasty Gerber puffed stuff. They are delish. I can't blame him.

Had a busy morning so far. Dropped the dog off at the groomer. Bought a 1/4 sheet cake and a fruit tart from Portos. K's mom's flight from Dallas (on American, natch) cancelled. grrr.

Oh, that sucks. I'm flying American tomorrow afternoon, and I'm hoping that we're not going to be cancelled.
