"What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind. How true that is."
That is very true.
Oh. My favorite Quayle quote? Back in '92 (shortly after the '92 presidential election), he said it was too early to decide if he was going to run for president in '94.
The Detroit comments reminded me of Baltimore getting a new slogan cause "The Wire" is shot there.
Isn't Baltimore "The City that Reads" ?
Cities with self-confidence react differently to negative portrayals. There is a serious campaign in NY city to make "Gotham City" an official nickname.
Personally, I'd have been no help at all:
Baltimore: You Didn't Come Here To Hunt, Did You?
I liked John Waters' which was something like "Come to Baltimore and get weird."(Too late.)
And I liked "It's Baltimore, hon, duck!" which I think a real murder po-lice suggested.(But, again, nsm with the soft-soap there)
Happy Noah and Grace day! I hope you both continue to grow and prosper this year and every year.

Okay, the comics-geek in me is saying "That's AWESOME!"
The cynic in me is saying "Oh, how smart. 'Come to NYC: A Homicidal Clown May Kill You With A Giant Penny!'"
There is a serious campaign in NY city to make "Gotham City" an official nickname.
Er, one Queens councilman is a "serious campaign" now?
[eta: And even though the current push to make it "official" is Batman-movie driven, Gotham was a nickname for NYC about 100 years before DC Comics ever existed.]
Dunkin Donuts is opening in my town on April 7! We've been without a DD nearer than CARY for about TWO YEARS! I am so happy.
But it's metropolis, too, right? Or is that Chicago?
(Trust me to ask the important questions.)

The standard thinking these days is that Metropolis is NYC. Gotham is in Jersey.
Bludhaven is also in Jersey.
I gather the DC writers don't think much of Jersey.
