Thank you all for the warm welcome (so many of you!). All those exclamation marks... really, I'm touched.
And thank you, ita. I'll tell me parents you liked it.

I think I might need a Word Sandwich intervention. I have printed out the alphabet to help me make quicker choices.
Shir, nice to meet you. Any friend of the remarkable and adorable Nilly is most welcome!
I got up at 5am to drive my niece to the airport and I am now too tired to live.
I had a craptacular weekend. The landlord at Colin's place wants to rent the place to a friend, so I'm more than likely shit out of luck. I'm Plan B, or something. So I spent Saturday night sad. Tried to shake it on Sunday by going out and getting some flowers and spending the afternoon gardening to get my mind off it.
But then a neighbor came out to clean up the winter mess, and I watched all the decorations and lighting I put out disappear into the trash. Because the net lighting I got to drape across the vines in back is "tacky." And he hates pink.
And I just thought, "were you waiting for me to move so you could do this, yo?"
He said no more bold colors, that it should be elegant. I just felt like "whatever" and so I finished putting my petunias in the flower bed and went inside.
Random question: Who is familiar with the term "social" as being short for "social security number"? I've only heard that term used at the credit card company I worked at and by the payroll department of our client. But I think I've been asked for my social when on the phone with some company (I forget what). Is the term "social" common knowledge?

I've definitely been asked for my "social" before.
Is the term "social" common knowledge?
I've used it quite a bit, both with Variable Annuity Company and here at Human Resources company.
I've used "social" too.
Is the term "social" common knowledge?
I've definitely heard it in various places ("various" = enough that it's not surprising to hear it, few enough that I don't feel like it's replaced the full phrase).
social social social. The word has lost all meaning.
