Newsflash to the teenage girls claiming "discrimination": You're not that pretty. And if you're going to cry prettyism, then you should at least put on some makeup for the tv interview. Maybe they should have claimed agism or something.

So, this is interesting. I have my annual review today (over the phone due to the ick) which will include bonus and comp discussions.

Meantime, we're in the process of trying to hire a couple of people for a more junior role in the department, and have been going back and forth on job descriptions, etc. Manager just signed off on the job des, and gave us her thinking on salary range for the new positions. The top end of which is only 5k below what I currently make.

This is my first annual review/increase with this firm, so we'll see how they go on this. But if I'm not pleased with what I hear, I'm feeling a little stronger about pushing back.

I'm fairly sure there was some hail this morning. And when I say this morning, I mean "oh, god, it's still dark outside, make the noise stop so I can go back to sleep."

I have consumed coffee. It hasn't helped. I think I might be stuck at semi-sociopathic all day.

I need new boots. The soles are worn down and there's almost no tread.

I discovered this last night. I slipped and fell - not on ice, but some slippery snow. I fall down, go boom. Nothing broke though. Nothing important, anyway. I wasn't hurt, but I did land on top of my laptop bag, breaking the LCD display of my MacBook and producing nice pretty patterns of black liquid behind the glass of the display.

Feh. I blame the boots. Or myself for being too lazy to get new ones....

I'm still in pain from my fall a couple of weeks ago. Evidently I've got me what the laypeople call a bone bruise. ow! Actually it really causes me little inconvenience except I can't sleep on my right side and I've been brought to tears when I've bumped a particular spot (like I bumped into the arm of a chair at a restaurant the other night).

In other complaints, my neighbor has had a most annoying terrier in his house for the past few days. The thing has whined and barked in the highest pitch possible for hours at a time for the past two evenings and mornings. I need to call neighbor and find out what the deal is because it is driving me MAD. Please god don't let it be neighbor's new dog. I really hope he's only dogsitting...until today.

I smacked the crap out of my thigh on the edge of a table Saturday night. By the end of yesterday, it had stopped hurting, I was happy. Woke up this morning, it hurt again. Because I slept on it like a dumbass.

oh noes - the grumpy is running rampant through our office. Everyone is being short with each other and stepping on toes. I am bumping up BK Wed to today.
