Wash: You want a slinky dress? I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress? Jayne: I'll chip in. Zoe: I can hurt you.

The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

I am beyond excited for the show. Absolutely giddy in fact.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I have yet to read anything about this show that doesn't make me cringe.

I like who they hired to play some roles. But sadly, that's not enough. I guess I'm not much of a "In-Joss-We-Trust" viewer.

Not quite double post excited, but close.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Yeah, no. The concept of Buffy was silly and intriguing.

This is all stepford wives and slavery, and it gives me an ick.

Not so much with the Trust In Joss, either. Weird cult! Weird cult I say!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This is all stepford wives and slavery, and it gives me an ick.

But don't you think Joss know it's icky? I mean, regardless of how they play it--I'm sure it will be pitched all Aliasy and hot chick kicking people in her underwear. Whether or not he does it well, from what I've read it seems like he thinks it's disturbing.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Weird cult! Weird cult I say!

Yeah, the phrase "Trust in Joss"? Also makes me cringe.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Yeah, the phrase "Trust in Joss"? Also makes me cringe.

Seriously. Didn't he write "Spiral"?

I've no idea if he's aware of the ick. Whether he is or not doesn't make the ick go away. Even if it's from a, "this is a horrible thing that's happening, and I will show you it" point of view, it sounds like NO FUN. And ick.

It hits the same sort of head explodey nerve as time paradoxy things for me.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm looking forward to Dollhouse. Great cast and I know Joss isn't going to do a show that is degrading to women. I may not like the show, but I highly doubt it'll be because it's offensive.
