The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!

Art Crawl!!!

I'm about 58 seconds into the video and I have question - she starts with a purl row. I interpreted my pattern to mean that the last row I knit in the heel flap was a wrong side row - meaning that the next row is the right side. Should I have ended the heel flap with the last right side row?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

YouTube taught me how to sew a button!

Wait, what? But sewing a button is a basic motor skill, isn't it? PC, I adore you to bits, but not only can I not fathom someone making a video to sew a button and putting it on YouTube, but the fact that people are watching it confuses me. I think I need to go hug my sewing machine.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'd never sewn a button! It took me forty minutes the first time. Stupid thread. Stupid needle.

But but but ... thread! Needle! Put together, then push through fabric and holes in button!

Karma is a cat, sleeping in my lap cuz it loves me. ~TS

P-C, you're one up on me--at least you looked it up. When I lose a button, I usually just rip out the others so it's all uniform.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

In Minear-related news, who's gonna whedonesque this?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

When I was doing sewing with my class year before last, they would take the thread, put it through the needle, take the two ends of the thread and knot them like the beginning of shoelaces (cross-under-pull tight) and then put tape at the end of the thread so it didn't pull all the way through. We also had a hell of a time with sewing (by hand) in anything even remotely resembling straight lines (this last was not all the children, but more than a couple)

Our wings are not tired.

I think it is awesome that YouTube has button sewing lessons. We aren't born knowing this stuff. (I taught my son)

Well, they were for my pants. So the button was necessary! Especially because they were two of my favorite pantses!

Now I have to learn how to mend tears and holes.
