Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Vampire Diaries: oh lord, this is schlocky. And heavy-handed. And the fog! The fog is awesome, and I think it gives the best performance in the show. Also, the background music is kind of foreground music, and is really annoying.

But, the show is amusing enough that I'll tune in next week. Plus, I can play the Hey, that's not how it happened in the book! game. Which makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Yet with all of that, the s how does manage to be more suspenseful than the book, so yay. Plus, I'm going to root for the bad vampire, out of a sense of tradition.

“Not dead yet!”

Is the bad vampire the one played by Ian Somerhalder? (I didn't watch, but have vague curiosity since I think Somerhalder is verra pretty.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Why WHY is Fringe going up against Supernatural?

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, the bad brother is played by Ian Somerhalder.

I enjoyed Vampire Diaries.

My friend S. has managed to sabatage the Somerhalder thing for me by noting his resemblence to Rob Lowe. . . as in EVERYTIME the name comes up she talks about how much he looks like Rob Lowe and how that prevents her from EVER enjoying him. (And I watched him on Lost and never noticed that resemblence but now I cannot forget it. On the other hand, I can watch Rob Lowe and not think about his past real-life crap.)

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I'm just wondering when I'm going to stop being pissed they killed Ianto. That overshadows the angst of the rest of the ending for me.

You know...it wasn't the fact that Ianto died that perturbed me. I mean, I'm used to Joss and Minear...folk who unhesitatingly kill beloved characters.

But, see, Joss and Minear do it in service to the story. And they make it work, usually. I'm pissed Ianto died because Jack's plan was fucking stupid and Jack isn't wracked with guilt for the right reasons. He's all "I hurt the ones I love in service to a higher cause and I just don't know if I'm strong enough to keep doing it" where in Ianto's case he should be (in my opinion) "I killed the man I love because I was a giant fucking moron with the stupidest plan imaginable."

I mean, REALLY? "Give up or I will lead the human race in a battle against you!"

The only appropriate response the 456 could have given was: "And you are...?"

Our wings are not tired.

"I killed the man I love because I was a giant fucking moron with the stupidest plan imaginable."

Add also my grandkid, for the same reason.

I'm kidding myself if I think I won't watch any future Torchwood because I loved what they had to offer prior to CoE. If I can limit my memory of CoE to the big block of concrete that would work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Add also my grandkid, for the same reason.

I separate the killing of the grandkid. I think Ianto's death was part of their hubris (Ianto was all up in it too, not just Jack--I think he fired the first shot at the tank, and surely that would have killed him too), but the grandson's death served a much larger purpose and saved much of the world.

I just dreamt I met John Barrowman (and was surprisingly wellbehaved) and tried to have a discussion with him about my unhappiness about the end of CoE without spoiling it for the people listening. And then I woke up.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Why WHY is Fringe going up against Supernatural?

AND CSI!!!! Hateful. Luckily, I am a greedy/lucky SOB who has two tivos so that I can record two things on the living room DVR and one on the bedroom DVR.
