Ted was going to Pod 4, I guess maybe I assumed it? If Beta wasn't in there, how was Beta trying to communicate with Ted otherwise?

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I don't watch Who, but I didn't think Torchwood was worth it. But, I think I'm in the minority here regarding that so you may want to take my words with a grain of salt.
I actually am now in the place that I wish I had just read about it here and skipped actually watching it.
I think Doctor Who season 4 is totally worth it.
If I had known, I might not have watched the last part of Torchwood. I don't know. But it kept me away from any panels with GDL at Dragoncon this weekend.
We finished watching S4 DW and CoE this week, and I don't have much to say right now, other than OMGWTF! I'll be thread sucking to see what others thought of them.
However, since it is being discussed now, my heart just broke for Donna and how she doesn't know how amazing she is. I too am hoping we get a glimpse of the woman she becomes, and I would very much like an alien to eat her mother.
I thought that she could have easily played the Lois role in CoE.
If Beta wasn't in there, how was Beta trying to communicate with Ted otherwise?
Since Beta was communicating with everyone else in other places, I thought it was something about Ted that meant he only saw him in one place. But it was once place he was told to go to by Eve, so it makes sense that even if Beta isn't in there, its effect is strong there for some reason. Have we seen Eve sit down in the Maxell chair for a blast in the "current day" scenes, or were those all flashbacks?
I don't watch Who, but I didn't think Torchwood was worth it.
Had you watched all the TW up to it? I wonder if that makes a difference? Either making you like it less or more, especially if you mainlined it recently, so Tosh and Owen are more raw right then.

But GDL! I would love to have gone to see him, but I would not trust the room. My guess is that people more fannish than me are madder than I am.
Vampire Diaries is going to suck, isn't it? And not in a good way.
TV Guide's description of the premiere tonight:
Brooding high school newcomer Stefan (Paul Wesley) can't get his mind off classmate Elena (Nina Dobrev) — perhaps because the two of them were deeply in love 130 years years ago. Yeah, Stefan is a vampire, and so is his reckless bad-boy brother, Damon (Lost's Ian Somerhalder). This one also features a special guest appearance by massive amounts of fog.
Why do I suspect we'll be cheering for the fog?
Yes, I've seen all of Torchwood and it had been months since I saw the previous series end - I think it saw it in time with its airing. I had liked TW quite a lot until the last 75 minutes of CoE.
Re: Defying Gravity
I believe Eve's chair scenes are all in the past.
I'm very excited about Vampire Diaries!
In almost exactly the same way that I was excited about the killer unicorn book.

Reincarnation? Good nutrition? How's Elena still around for 130 years?
LeN, will you watch the next Who (which I think might have Jack in it) or TW?
I haven't gotten into Who at all - despite trying.
I don't know about TW. I'll see next year.
