I really enjoyed Being Human. In fact, I watched the last two episodes of the first season again last night. For about the 5th or 6th time.

The characters really drew me in and the performances get richer and more nuanced as the eps unfold.

George, in particular, becomes so much more than the comic relief as events progress. He's very Oz-like in my heart.

A very good sign: I came away remembering that the protagonists were named Mitchell, George and Annie. That's a sign of good writing and characerization, if I can retain names easily.

Am I the only one who found "Being Human" kind of dull and predictable?

It wasn't the most exciting thing that's ever been on TV, but I liked it in a 'comfort TV' way. Funny, witty writing.

I saw the first episode of Being Human last night. I liked it better than I thought I would. I'm less than thrilled about the instant conspiracy/war-on-humanity subplot, and the menacing-vampire-elder/craven-henchman duo was annoying and predictable, but other than that, it was good. I liked the characters. I do wonder why George, arguably the most human of the three, is the one most uncomfortable around humans. I guess his reactions are supposed to be comedic, but I didn't find anything about it funny. I expected more actual humor, but I'm not sorry it turned out to be more serious. It could become really good. I'll keep watching.

Just finished watching everything Boxed set:

I got the impression that he was bisexual before he met Jack but I can't think of any strong canonical evidence.

When he first met Jack (which was soon after Lisa died, I think) there were definitely vibes, which was kind of unusual for the first time at the rodeo.

So still an impression, but really weak evidence.

well, in all fairness to the sister, she had heard about it from a neighbor, and was looking for confirmation from Ianto. The husband wasn't that subtle.

Wow. Eureka was really stupid tonight. I guess every show of this sort needs its phantasm episode, and this was a poor example of the genre.

I have to say, I am just in awe of the job Peter Capaldi (Frobisher) did. What a magnificent piece of acting in all five episodes. Sorry that we really didn't get more of Lois in this one, but I loved Bridget sticking it to the PM.

yes, he was really wonderful. the final scene was really wonderfully done. Especially seeing as how his sacrifice was for naught.

And the guy who played Dekker was icky when he came up with the solution that would kill Stephen. He looked too smug.

I'm less crazy about Lexi's big reveal to Duncan - because just lifting the magic-techno baby-bump hiding shirt without a word of explanation about the material is unreal. Also, at this point, what are the chances that Duncan's two plus two comes up with five?

Well, I hate her character anyway, so I'm okay with it. Although, isn't Eureka supposed to be a secret town? If Lexi didn't tell him where she was, how did he track her down (and get to) a secret town.

I'm just watching Primeval and they're trying to conjure up an air of jeopardy and all I can think is "so, what? You're going to kill Ianto or something?" They so do not possess the plotting chops nor the character investment.

I've given up on it.

predictable, but not dull. Yet. It could get that way if they don't start thinking outside of the box.

I'm really enjoying Planet of the Dead. Partly I'm just glad to have The Doctor (especially this The Doctor) back on my TV.

That was such a tonic after rewatching the end of Torchwood:COE! If only we could keep him!

And I really liked this "temp" companion. It would be an interesting dynamic to have someone along with mad skills and who he couldn't quite trust.

However, it was nice to see The Doctor get well and truly snogged.

I know we've heard the "your story's almost over" line before, but wasn't the "it's coming, in the darkness" the same thing that Jack got told at one (or multiple) points?
