A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I felt almost cruel lurking while the unspoiled were still in their happy places.
The upside of being a writer-- I may want to kick his ass, but I understand why he did it and I might have done the same damned thing myself.
Still... Russell, you bastard.
I've been waiting for today for what feels like forever.

Me, too!
(Unrelated to Barb: I met a writer at dinner tonight who knows you through RWA -- Liz Bemis. My world is too, too, TOO freaking small.)

Yeah, the name's definitely familiar. I know she was a Golden Heart (unpublished author) finalist this year. Wow. Seriously small world.
I want my Ianto back!!!!!! I would have much rather that he killed off Gwen, frankly. Mostly because of the hot gay sex aspect to be honest.

She was talking about something something awards, something something romance, and she had previously said she was a writer, and so I butted in at an appropriate break and asked, "Were you at RWA?"
And she gave me the look of I-didn't-expect-you-to-ask-that-since-you're-in-a-whole-other-sphere-of-my-life, and said, "Yeah."
So I said I knew you, but identified you as Barb [lastname], and she gave me a blank look, so I said that you wrote Adios, and she said, "Oh! Caridad [lastname]! Oh yeah, I've met her!"
Freaky small world.
Anyway. Back to Torchwood and the Minear-ing of Ianto.
I went to TWOP to see their reaction to Ianto's demise, and people are pissed, man. Never watching anything RTD again pissed.
Ianto is dead and the planet is dooooomed.
This is brutally awesome.
Never watching anything RTD again pissed.
But since that just means missing
the last three Tennant specials
it's not too big a sacrifice.
Actually no, wait, maybe it is.

Heh. Then he did his job. It was a hard choice, but you look at the story arc, he didn't do it just for shits and giggles. Ianto had completed his arc from the standpoint that he came to terms with who and what Jack is and loved him still. Perhaps loved him more. He went out on the strength of his convictions-- all the reasons he came to work for Jack's branch of Torchwood in the first place.
Most importantly and this goes back to what Alice said to the female ops agent-- Ianto's death makes Jack that much more dangerous. The fight had been personal because of his guilt in his earlier involvement. Now it's emotional. Unless, of course, he's completely hamstrung by his emotions and Gwen has to slap him around.
Either way, it should make for an interesting last episode.
Are we absolutely sure that RTD hasn't been hanging out with Minear? It seems like he's been taking lessons.
