A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
DW: Why do I have the feeling that after this
feature event, Ten will get his very own spin-off show? Longest swan song ever.
TW: Eep! On one hand,
I don't want to have another "this character was totally All Dead and now, after the cliffhanger, they'll use the resurrection glove and it won't unwork (undead Ianto, careful with him, Jack). Or we'll find out that they were only Mostly Dead/in a coma/unable to die because of constant and intimate contact with Jack's DNA.
Because the resolution to the
creeptastic "It was a gift" by actually changing the mood of the scene and deleting that line was cheap.
On the other hand,
I don't like the idea that if Ianto stays dead, they might bring back the Gwen/Jack thing, which, ugh.
I have seen no
Torchwood,
and have only spoiled myself a wee bit in this thread, but
IANTO MUST NOT DIE!!!!!!!!
::flails::
I HAVE SPOKEN!
::looks
very sternly
at the universe::
Windsparrow and I watched TW part one last night. Will likely watch more tonight or tomorrow.
I'm totally with Fiona. (And, thanks Juliebird for directing me to DailyM!)
The handling of the
456, from beginning to end, has been a total cock-up
. Maybe I'm so bewildered that I can't recall
a worse series of decisions on this show,
but I really can't.
The pathosy bits have been really powerful but
the actual execution seems much more handwavey than usual.
Even
the mostridiculous situations in series 1&2 made SOME sort of sense. But not this time
.
I suppose the overarching theme being the
bitter wages of guilt makes its own sense but...feh
.
So I should have held off on watching Day Four until I had Day Five in hand. I won't nitpick until I see it through. I'll just sit here quietly
sobbing NOOOOOOOOOOOO
!
Yeah, I hear you, Laura. I keep adding hours to my current time to see how long it's going to be until I get resolution.
Oh yeah, I know that routine too.
Torchwood doing well in the ratings...

How could it NOT do well?
As
distressed as I've been, I AM
riveted. I really want a resolution I can feel good about.
I've just become uneasy about one thing though, based on the comment upthread about
seeing the scientist guy we thought was dead on the 'next times'.
I won't like it if the
virus is just a knockout drug the 456 use to simulate the mass destruction they can't actually wreak.
It would be a very
Dallas kind of moment.
Though, the
we'll have the children NOW, timeline could be a ploy
with all the splattery, banging about just being for show.
It might be kind of cool if the resolution was that
the 456 figured they'd hoodwinked the stoopid humans once before, why not go for broke and run a big con.
That would make the unscrutinized
complicity of Frobisher and Co. even MORE odious.
They
made a big deal
out of the fact that
they previously
gave up
the children.
Really looking forward to the conclusion. I hope the numbers will help the possibility of much more Torchwood.
