A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Doctor Who does have the STRANGEST ways of celebrating Christmas. When the lethal Xmas trees from the 9th Doctor's one are the most charming option facing you (as opposed to offing Kylie Minogue or this episode's poor false Doctor's back story) you know you're in some dark territory.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, I had already watched this Doctor Who, but Doctor Who on my TV! Never can resist.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

It was so good to see him. Very sad that we are losing him.

I had serious "allergies" this episode. Some of it was the episode itself, but I think mainly it was knowing there are only a few more episodes I'll ever see Tenant as the Doctor (though it wouldn't entirely surprise me if he managed to turn up as a guest on this or the related shows).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Well - I loved Virtuality and am pretty bummed that it didn't get picked up. Showing us that pilot when there's no more coming is just mean, Fox.

I also am really curious why Universal sold this show to Fox instead of putting it on Syfy or USA. This is WAY more up their alley than Caprica, and has just about as much to do with BSG. (I realize it takes place on a spaceship and therefore has no place on Syfy, but hope springs eternal.)

Also beyond amused at the layers of meta in the main character. Cpt Pike? Who is only the captain in the pilot? And whose first name is Frank and is "accidentally" airlocked by a malevolent computer program during an EVA? And rides a virtual horse on his spaceship in his show airing on Fox at 8pm on a Friday???? I really hope Ron Moore won some kind of "how many references can I cram into one character" bet with him. I mean, bravo.

Art Crawl!!!

After having watched the whole thing - I liked the Virtuality pilot alot. It would have been an interesting show. And possibly too actually Scifi for Syfy. (It does have that reality show aspect. . . surely, they'd like that. . .also, kind of a ghost. . .well, a ghost in a machine. They like that too.)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I thought Virtuality was terribly slow and boring for most of it, but it did start to raise some interesting questions about the nature of reality, which I always enjoy. It had potential, but I can see why Fox would have passed on it. Like Glamcookie said, way too many characters and hard to get a feel for them.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I am utterly bemused by the Australian girl expecting people to know she was Starbuck sans wig. I mean, if there weren't any other character who wears that same outfit and has long dark hair, then, okay, it would be a different matter. But if she doesn't want to be taken for Boomer, she needs the iconic blonde bob, or an approximation thereof.

Looked like a fun day, though! (And I thought it was a pretty good outfit, wig aside.)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I thought it was pretty obvious that she was joking about being disgruntled over being mistaken for Boomer. She cracks me up, especially when she plays other characters in the scene and mocks herself. "Cylon."
