Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think People gave it a bad review, but the review was too poorly written to be able to tell why.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Tom,

it depends on what your definition of "good" is. It isn't great. A bit predictable, and slightly boring. I've seen worse but I wasn't all that interested in it. I got as far as episode 3 or 4, but I'll be back to watch the other eps eventually.

I saw a few reviews and they all panned it.

Claudia Black was on tonight's Moonlight.

And if you get Chiller and want cheese, check out The Thirst with Tony Todd, Jason Connery, Mark Ryan, and one of my krav instructors very shirtless. It's on at 11, and possibly many times after that.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I had Moonlight as background music while I was on the computer, and as soon as I heard that voice I looked up to see Claudia Black, dressed in PVC or pleather or whatever the heck those outfits were made from. Of course she rocked the black leather as Aeryn Sun, so I guess the show's costumers were thinking they shouldn't mess with a good thing. Unfortunately she didn't get nearly enough screen time.

She barely got to do anything Claudia-like.

My love for Torchwood grows with every repeat. I wonder if it's knowing about Tosh and Owen that changes it so in retrospect. I have very little of the hesitations I had the first time round.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I liked the first season much better on rewatch. I definitely think it's knowing more about the characters that helps. And the unreasoning love.

Everything is so much sadder. Toshiko got fake or almost love two episodes in a row, and it's a sniffler.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have really enjoyed the rewatch.

I think I have Big Thinky about Toshiko, but during the fact I had a hard time vocalizing it. But now, knowing it's all going to close, it's just so interesting. I'll wait until the rewatch is complete if I can.
