Gee, um, thanks. Speaking as someone who doesn't read or write fic and yet was an active member of the pre-BS Farscape thread and has been reading and posting in Boxed Set since day 1, it's so nice to know I have your approval to post here. Really, I feel so much better now.
And as ita and DX have already pointed out, the Farscape thread was never particularly slashy or ficcy, nor was the SG-1 discussion going on in whichever thread that was. The "Hey, maybe we should just have one SF/F TV thread" conversation happened very early in the "Should we merge DS/FS/Smallville?" negotiations, and most certainly predates the creation of this thread.
Jessica, I apologise unreservedly - I did feel defensive about

right to be part of the thread being questioned, but I was also amused by how defensive I felt about it. From the tone of your post, I clearly failed

I'm watching the first of the latest episode and I don't think it's my beautiful cake anymore. I liked it when they were trying to figure out what to do if something like that happened and you were cut off from the rest of the country. Now I get the feeling the show doesn't know if it's trying to be LOST or remaking Red Dawn. I miss first season Jake too. This guy just broods.
OTOH Mimi continues to be made of awesome.

The flashbacks on New Amsterdam are so interesting. I wonder why he takes a surname that suggests New York rather than some variation on his original surname.
I wonder if his daughter also had a family.
I wonder what percent of the population of New York City is descended from him.
