Because books.

Do you think Walter just remembered that, or has he known all along?

Walter is SO much of Fringe for me. I just adore him, and John Noble's portrayal of him.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I think that he just remembered. I started to suspect when Walter told the coin story and Peter didn't remember.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. WALTER.

Walter may not even have known that he was alternate!Peter until the coin story.

Walter mentioned the illness much earlier in the season, which is why I thought it was clone!Peter until tonight. I think he knows and forgets often.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm with sj. I think there are times when it's seemed like he's known, but this is not the first time Peter hasn't remembered something about his childhood. I'm so glad they went there! Oh, crazy show.

I also love that they totally explained why all the weird shit was happening around the Boston area! THANKS A LOT, MASSIVE DYNAMIC.

Also, William Bell is Spock. It all makes sense now.

For a second, I thought that we would find out that William Bell was alternate!Walter.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

But Peter was stolen from Alternate!Walter. So if Alternate!Walter is still alive, boy is he pissed at our Walter.

Only... Note that the tabloid headline is "Obamas move into White House". So the whole show has taken place in a Universe in which Obama is NOT President? The show's viewpoint reality is an alternate universe to whom WE are the weird other world? I'm probably reading too much into one headline.
