Can't any one of your damn little Scooby club at least try to remember that I hate you all?

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I thought the pacing of the pilot was very labored - even boring. There are teenagers in the pilot and a LOT of focus on the teenagers - to my disappointment and irritation. Eric Stoltz does not bring his A acting game in this one, but the actress who plays his wife (featured on "Deadwood" and a very special ep of CSI) is fabulous. She needs to get more work, I just love her acting so.

Looked her up, and while she was on CSI for a few eps, I can't find a DEADWOOD reference for her. Not being nitpicky - it's just I LOVE so many of the DEADWOOD actresses that I was curious.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What's the actress's name?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

She most definitely was on Deadwood:

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Trixie?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Trixie!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Whoops. Completely scrolled past her. The other character with the same last name as Eric Stoltz's character must be playing their daughter.

Yeah - so loved Trixie. The LOST team completely WASTED a lot of potential with her when they cast her and then killed her off about five minutes later.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm angry. And emotional. And skipping.

Doctor Who, The Stolen Earth spoilers from now on.

Oh, come on. Seriously? You use all of this mega ex-cast, and what for? It's shooting a mosquito with an elephant gun, that's what it is. If you're aiming emotion, well, hello? Rose and the Doctor? Like, the biggest star crossed lover couple I've seen and loved to tiny little pieces since Buffy and Angel (oh, yeah. I'm 12 that way)?

And I knew. Dammit, I knew. When they ran one towards another, I knew it would end badly. Sigh. I do love them. Not enough of the original bimbo Rose was back on the day on now-Rose, too. She's got that grown-to-be-sad look on her face now, and I can't wait to hear her story, but I got the feeling I won't get so lucky. Or, actually, I got the feeling that if I'll hear her story, the episode will be bloody awful.

I don't understand why Martha is there, at all. Personality and all, I didn't care much for her in the past season, and now she's just one more name on the too-long-list-as-is to save. Not a good distraction. C'mon, writers. You can give me a great season finale without recruiting all of those so obviously soon-to-be red shirts. And you haven't shown me enough good reasons for all of them to be there. And my ass "secret wave what's it's name for the Doctor's closest". Pffft.

I freaking love what they've done with Donna's character, but she needs to get some more screen time before I'll shoot someone. I love it when she's saving the day, and even though I didn't even think I'd like her when she joined as companion, now I love her. More than that, I can identify with her. And my God, what a thick mother she's got.

I have no idea about Torchwood or Sarah-Jane, or her son, or what's going on there at all, but I know that I'd probably tell me mom to chill if I'll see such a reaction from her. Oh, and it goes without mention, but Captain Jack is foamy. And should be with the Doctor. Or that Rose should be with the Doctor and Donna should be with Captain Jack. Maybe a threesome... No, wait. I'm gonna keep my options open at this call. Too much foaminess. Is good.

But above all. Why take my beloved Tennant away from me?
Evil.

Right, I'm done. Less angry and emotional. As always, thanks for listening. And I need a hug, and hot chocolate milk, and a Captain Jack next to it won't hurt, too. Dammit, damn allergies.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Oh, wait until she sees "Journey's End"

Do you have to wait a week, Shir?

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Hmmm. I think I'll hold off saying anything until you've seen "Journey's End."

Yeah.

I'm thinking that's a good idea.

Our wings are not tired.

Clearly the medicine Shir needs is the Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood in marathon viewing.
