Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

BWAH! Speaking of Angel, DW and I decided that that show had the perfect ending (we feel that BSG did not).

And Xena was a close second.

What is even happening?

That does bring up a queston: didn't the agricultural frigate get blown up a couple of years ago? I was under the impression that the fleet was subsisting on fast-growing algae (presumably also used for air recycling). Couldn't they bring that with them and have a basic staple source of food until they established harvestable crops and at least made a stab at developing hunting skills?

When they were looking at the map of the world, Bill Adama said something about dividing the supplies evenly among the different groups of people. I think they were taking some things with them, but it still didn't make much sense. Maybe if we'd had a minute less of Bill puking and 2 minutes less in the strip club, there could have been time for an explanation, and for Kara to say goodbye -- you know -- to us, if not to Lee.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think the last thing that ep needed was any more time on Earth. They got there, humanity's going to survive, THE END.

If it were my show, I would have cut it off after Lee says "No, no city" and Lampkin asks "So what do you want to do?"

The funniest part of the Hole in the Fucking World clip is still Whedon's credit under the line "it's your brand of bollocks from first to last."

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Jessica, I completely concur. They could have even cut to the present day scene from that, and it still wouldn't make me writhe in despair.

Art Crawl!!!

Jessica - yes, that would be better. Then we wouldn't have to imagine how doomed they all are.

I realized after going to bed that that ending would have cut off both Roslin's death scene and Starbuck's brief goodbye, so those would have had to be moved up. But basically, in my version of the finale, we do not spend half a fucking hour listening to Lee wax philosophical about how TEKNOLOGIE IZ TEH EVAL.

I wonder if the guys at Zoic have a version of that scene where he spontaneously combusts in the middle of that speech.
