Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

WWII era MacBeth

Richard III. But yeah, someone else said that, and I'm intrigued, but I don't need a new show to pick up! I think I'll wait and see how the ratings are and how many of my friends are watching and talking about it.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, that's right. Thanks.

They should just have him speaking in his native accent. I bet it would help.

What, David isn't American either? I probably shouldn't be surprised.

Speaking of casting, I loved that Wes Studi is the general!! I actually didn't recognize him at first--I just kept thinking, "Hey, I know that guy" and then it finally occurred to me who it was. Oh, and Weasel BIL Corporate Guy is suffering from some serious typecasting; I see him, I immediately think he's nefarious.

Art Crawl!!!

I remember him as the Dad in the father/daughter racing team in Drive.

I think that David is Australian.

Oh, that's right. I forgot he was in Drive (he was good there, too).

TWOP forum people are complaining about how over-the-top the butterfly crown was at the end, but I thought it fit with the whole Biblical signs and portents thing--the Bible is never subtle when it comes to portents.

Art Crawl!!!

I know. I thought it fit too.

Wes Studi and Ian McShane? That's some fairly awesome casting.

Ah, well. I'll probably follow P-C's lead here: I currently have way too many shows to watch.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The thing about Kings is that it was a bit TOO faithful to the Biblical referent. I mean down to the naming of Silas' kids! It was just a bit too on the nose for me.

I think the pilot dragged in spots. I'm interested, but I think they need to slow down a bit because I didn't expect Goliath to be a non-entity this quickly.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Is Kings available online somewhere now?

They said it should be up at nbc.com.
