Sooner or later, you're gonna want it. And the second — the second — that happens, you know I'll be there. I'll slip in, have myself a real good day.

Spike ,'Conversations with Dead People'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

And I still want a weeping angel statue for my garden!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

WANT. (spoileriffic for a pilot for a series which may or may not come to pass)

Just reading the pilot picspam made me so, so happy. The conversation about the Hogwarts houses had me howling with laughter.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

TomW theorized that the UNIT mention might be a set up for DW series 4 stuff.

Martha! LOVE.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

The Actor who played the Brigadier is still alive. IJS.

And I haven't seen the Sarah Jane adventures, but doesn't she say "Give my love to The Brig" or some such at some point?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Anne - holy crap, that sounded like fun!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Oh, man. I just finished watching Out of Time and Combat; my Owen love was complete. Sure he was a wanker, but he was a wanker in pain. We love our brooding, wankerific, in pain anit-heroes!

::cries::

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I love my dead bi wanker in pain.

Hopefully only mostly dead. He can come back as the Dread Pirate Owen.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

He's really great in Out of Time. I love the sense that he's completely out of his depth and scared shitless by it. (I have no use for Combat.)

'And on that tragic day, an era came to its inevitable end.' That's all there is.

Re SCC time shift

I'm pretty forgiving of a lot of things in movies to TV adaptations. But the Terminator movies are just so legendary that I have issues with tinkering with the dates set in the movies -- which, honestly, cover just what? Four days in Sarah Connor's life? It can't be that hard to skew closely to them.

It can't be that hard to skew closely to them.
I think the phrase is "fucking impossible", because the movies weren't consistant with each other T1 supposedly May 1984. yet John is 10 in the 1994 T2, when he should have been 9 (which makes casting a 13 year old to play him even more iffy). T2 "corrects" this by making John 13 in T2 but keeps the 1994 date which should have shoved the events T1 back to 1980, but didn't.
Yeah. The big change appears to be the moving of T2. If they'd stayed with the 1995 date and John at 10, they could have given them several more years of peace, say, 5, bringing them to 2000, then have the time-jump to 2008.
Really the only way to explain Eddie Furlong's appearence in T2, and still have a supposedly mid-teens John in SCC was to move the events of T2 to 1997.

And Cameron, what's up with her?* Why will she never give a straight answer to a question? I have my own theory on that after seeing 3 episodes, but the question is rhetorical really as I'll be going off the grid before US finale induced spoilage.
