Poor Buffy. Your life resists all things average.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Our wings are not tired.

Poor Kara. Even her Cylon stalker thinks she came back wrong now.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Poor Kara. Even her Cylon stalker thinks she came back wrong now.
And all this fuss over a deep tropical cellular tan.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm curious about further hypotheses of the Kara stuff. I finally remembered TWOP (duh) and have been reading the thread there. Well thought out posts on the topic, and verbose as hell.

Interestingly enough, the people who have mentioned Pythia's prophecies maintain that she must have travelled to Earth and back to be able to make them, and often wrap time travel into that package. No one who's mentioned her seems to think she could be having visions.

Which is weird, since some of our heroes have clearly had them. Which makes me remember that I don't remember--did head Six ever tell Baltar anything he didn't or couldn't already know?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

ita, I was paying attention to that for a long time, and I know that for at least the first couple years, I was very pleased that, no, she never told him anything he didn't or couldn't know. I think that's held throughout the series, but I couldn't swear to it right now.

I have pronoun confusion from this... Kara must have travelled to and from Earth to make Pythia's prophecies? How are Pythia's prophecy's contingent on Kara? Or is that one of the theories?

Oh, no--nothing to do with Kara. They were supposing that Pythia must have made the trip.

Someone has now popped up suggesting metaphysics, 30 pages of discussion in. It never occurred to me to question the supernaturalish nature of the prophecies.

JenP - Jan 20, 2009 4:09:01 pm PST #6329 of 30001

Oh, OK. I should probably not be this lazy and go look myself, but... was Pythia from Kobol?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

They were supposing that Pythia must have made the trip.

Huh, interesting. Never occured to me.

(And now, naturally, I'm going to have to assume Pythia was the original incarnation of Ellen Tigh until informed otherwise.)
