I really enjoyed Martha, and her interactions with Owen, and even Gwen, but in the scenes with Jack, much strain and forced joviality was brought out of Jack. Do you think it was a character choice that Jack got all loud and uber-happy and LingOL (TM someone awesome), or did John Barrowman get confused about how his character acts differently on DW and seeing Martha on TW threw him off?

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Actual proof that one of the John Sheppard action figures comes with a ZPM and a lemon:
(Also includes action figures making out.)
Gives 'lemon-squeezer' a whole new meaning.
I thought that when Martha came on the scene she brought this extra burst of energy. It was very nice.
Oh and before I forget: not being an old Doctor Who fan - what do we think about UNIT? Is it a good thing that Martha has been working for them? Or is there something off with them?
UNIT's always been the good guys, and indeed, the Doctor worked for them for a couple of years. So it's really just a harken back to old days, with no reason to see anything sinister.
Sarah Jane Smith also worked with UNIT, so Martha's association with them may be a shout-out to the new show.
UNIT's been at least mentioned before on New Who. Maybe in, um, "The Sound of Drums"?
Maybe in, um, "The Sound of Drums"?
That sounds right. (And really, I should *know* because we just mainlined all of S3 last week. Of course the downside to mainlining 13 eps at once is they kind of start to blend together. Except for Blink, which still hasn't finished creeping me the fuck out.)

But how would Ianto look in one of their red caps? And would that be innovative or avant garde?
Our TW got cut off about 2 seconds after Owen was shot. So one vote of relief that BBCA repeats the ep so many times that we were able to catch the last 45 seconds later.
I'm not sure I like the idea of Martha replacing Owen. Owen's cynicism added a certain spice to the team dynamic. While Ianto's snark is welcome, it isn't quite as pure as Owen's style.
