A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

ita is spot-on about how watching multiple episodes of BSG in one day is rough. Aaaand ... We watched ten episodes in three nights. I was not a happy goth, let me tell you.

It's so funny, because I can completely understand finding the show too grim, the characters unlikable, etc., but it's like they pipe crack through the TV tubes right into my living room right before each show (and bridge doses while on hiatus), because there is very little that I don't love unreservedly about the show. Someone has a valid criticism? I'm all, "Yeah, you're totally right! But I don't care, because I am in love, and love is blind."

Having said that, it's, you know, fiction. And a TV show. There's only so much import with which it can be imbued in my world, even though it is one of my most-loved fictional TV shows, and I care enough to post about it online and buy DVDs and stuff. Sure, metaphor for whatever-the-fuck modern society, blah-blah (I don't discount that, it's just not why I love it, so I don't often examine if through that filter.) Still, just because I love it, doesn't mean I don't get why others don't. People who take it so seriously that they get mad when other people don't like it or offer a criticism or two - that, I don't get.

Also? YAY TWO MORE DAYS YAY!!

Art Crawl!!!

I get mad because I have a friend who insists that someday she is going to watch it but hasn't gotten around to it but refuses to let me talk about it because yeah, she's going to watch it "someday". Right.

Now that, I totally get. You give her one more year, then all bets are off. (ETA: You mean she doesn't let you talk about it to her, right? Not that you can't talk about it at all to anyone if she's there... because that ain't right!)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I sometimes wonder how I'd feel about BSG if I didn't read forums. I'm such a freaking sponge.

But I do know that once upon a time I was such a big Lee girl, until I realized in the second season that they had no idea what to write for him, and ended up hating most of his air time, when there was any. I still adore season one the best. Back then I liked a whole lot of characters. Now I'm still intrigued, even though I'm not sure why, beyond completism (Adama and Roslin 4eva!!11) but I'm not actually behind any of the characters. And I usually need at least one person to root for to get behind a story. The characters aren't grey and morally ambiguous to me, they just flipflop for the most part. Not in opposite directions, but in ways that don't add up without too much handwaving for such an "intelligently written show". Too much padding and filler when there were important, relevant and interesting things to explore.

That said, is it Friday yet?!

I remember having a big boost in my "meh" about Lee during Baltar's trial, when Lee took the stand. I thought that was a great performance by Jamie Bamber. But, yeah, Lee's character just kind of wafts most of the time. Kind of a shame. But I don't care! Because I love it, and love is blind.

Oh yeaaaaah. That was a good moment/episode(s) for his character.

I still want someone, one day, maybe after Caprica has dished out some good footage, do a BSG vid to Paul Simon's "Obvious Child". Because whoa almost-taiko drums/awesome beat and cool apt lyrics (in a vague way).

Can't talk to her about it.

Seriously, she doesn't like dark - she's not going to watch it.

A friend and I watched 15 episodes of Galactica over 2 days. But I still think it's a black comedy, so we giggled a lot.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I found out that one of my friends has all of the seasons of BSG on DVD. I so need to borrow them.
