Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

It was angry making that they completely excluded the non-caucasian regulars from the episode despite establishing that these people had traveled to Atlantis and come back. TPTB can include Big Pussy and Walter-fucking-Harriman in the story, but Teyla and Ronon would be too difficult to explain?!?

But despite that lack, what was aired was mostly entertaining. And very, very pretty.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The aliens would have made less sense there-SGA shouldn't just cast the coloreds as outsiders.

Unless the SGC called everyone back from Atlantis permanently, I think it would make more sense for at least Teyla to be back with Rodney dealing with the Wraith stragglers than Zelenka. (Ronon I can see being much less likely to have joined up in "Runner" if Sheppard wasn't there...)

It was nice to see Zelenka, and see both of them in suits (if odd), but I guess I was just hung up on the idea of them doing what was basically a character-study of Sheppard when they only had two episodes left. It's not like we didn't know he was basically a hero, after all.

The music was nice, though. If somewhat out of place. I figure they had a little money to burn off, but I kind of doubt the dvds are going to have Johnny Cash on them.

I thought they were people already in jail and she was trying to help him find stuff out about them.

I thought she was getting them out of the jail. Which is one of the things that seemed dopey. That is, why does he have to nominate specific people to rescue? Why not just say "Well, if there's someone you can get someone out, go do that."

Maybe it'll be explained, I dunno.

Our wings are not tired.

This week I skipped SGA because I had another option and had kinda lost interest. And now it has elicited more conversation than it has in some time. Puts back in queue.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Please pardon my SG-1 tangents. I just started season 7. Ascended for one year? Seriously? Maybe I should slow down my viewing.

Yeah, I think we have Mega Snake and its ilk to thank for that.

My comment on the latest SGA was: so the purpose of this episode was to set up a giant intergalatic multi-dimensional parallel-universe MacGuffin?!

Good thing John is such a pretty sad-eyed princess.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I saw all the BSG webisodes except 9. After viewing 10, it is really obvious what happens in 9. But I still want to see 9. It seems to me that this set of webisodes will come back into the main show's plot.
