OH MY GOD - we're into 8 seasons of Smallville?
!!!!!!!

Gosh.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

Okay, so Sanctuary is a new show on SciFi channel appearing tonight.
Here are some comments about it. I'm trying it. I have nothing to lose.
Yes. TWOP is calling it Torchwood: North America or something similar.
I could get behind that, so I'll be giving it a try.
I'm assuming it's less gay, though. What isn't?
It surpasses my usual benchmark for broadcast gayness (Angel), so I'm thinking nothing since Starsky & Hutch.
Though I wouldn't mind the show taking a shot at the title if Kavan Smith reprised his role for the first broadcast episode...
ETA: He did, for much more screentime than the original webisode already. No gayness in evidence so far, but at least much better hair. And no David Hewlett doing his twitchy mumbling neurotic act, which I count as a pro for continued watching.
I watched Sanctuary last night! It seemed a little workmanlike, but I enjoyed it. I don't watch Torchwood, though. Maybe I should? Is that a BBC show?
I enjoyed Sanctuary. I thought that Dr. Zimmerman was kind of Mastersish - what do you think? And it had Dee and Major Lorne!
Yeah, Torchwood is a BBC show.
Speaking of BBC shows: tomorrow BBCA is running a Life on Mars marathon. To prepare us for the premiere of the ABC LoM? To prepare us to be disappointed by the ABC LoM?
I really liked the actor playing Zimmerman, and Tapping was as great as ever.
The Sanctuary dialogue was often stilted and pretentious, but that may be partly because it was exposition heavy.
I'm willing to suspend belief on the question of whether there are monsters all around us. But having an embryo extracted and successfully frozen in the 1890s? Not so much.
The "virtual set" thing makes the whole show feel like a video game.
