I liked Charlie's wife, even though I never did learn her name. She reacted just about the way I'd feel a real person would if confronted with REAL killer androids from the future and being strapped to a bomb and then have a cellular antenna fall on me, et cetera. Even though she'd have been infinitely better off to have stayed behind with Charlie and not bleed out in a bumpy van ride.
I give the producers credit for trying to come up with a reason that Cromartie just didn't kill Sarah et al straight off. But since he DID have enough explosive to bring down an antenna, why not set up the chair with the obvious trigger as he did, and then a secondary trigger leading to the real explosive under the floorboards set to go off when weight is off the chair?
It's a sad day when even I can outthink a killer android.
I didn't have a problem with Sarah doing what she did given that (a) she'd left Charlie originally to keep him out of this sort of thing and (b) it was John's fault that Charlie got dragged into it.
Charlie forgetting the basics of his EMT work? That I do have a problem with, even under the stress he was under. Oh well. I hope this is just a bad patch instead of a symptom for the show.
I think that Charlie had to roll the dice here, even though he knew that the trip would be bad. He knew that Sarah's priority was protecting John, and he couldn't count on her sending someone back for them. She might forget, get killed, be on the run, etc.
How was Guinevere?
Is that the ex-bosses niece? I'm afraid I thought she was a bit nondescript, to be honest. Pleasant enough, but not the great beauty and consort of legend. Not yet, anyway.
I kinda gave Charlie a bit of slack. Okay he's an EMT but the killer androids from the future and the whole kidnapping thing has got to make one flustered.
So, I'm convinced that tonight's "Fringe" ep came before last week's in terms of chronology.
I'm watching Eureka first. So far: enjoyable.
It's going to end in a cliffhanger, isn't it?
I guessed at the Allison news, but I was not expecting what happened to Carter. That's a nastier cliffhanger than "will they live?" IMO.
I thought it was a great episode. I'm glad the Thorne mystery ended the way it did.
Ack!
I wasn't very invested in this ep, neither good nor bad, but when I could see the Pregnant Allison bomb coming, I thought that would be the cap to the episode, and groaned, because what we need is more pregnant characters (especially for a character who already can't be bothered to parent her already existing child).
But Jack getting fired made me sit up and shout. !!! Losing the job (beyond the obvious of losing the formula of the show) means losing the stable place where he was finally able to be a good dad to Zoe, where he is able to be Allison's friend and... birthing coach *chokes on a baby*.
I won't include the stability he provides for Lexi, since she can rot in hell, and if anything good comes out of this, it's that she runs back to her W.H.O. doctor and is lost in the jungles of Timbuktu and the twins can be raised by monkeys.*
I did enjoy Eva's story, and almost wish that this final act had been extended another episode, as the resolution came all too quickly and easily.
* That said, I hope they don't fix this too quickly. We can get fresh new stories with a new sheriff, or the complete lack of one, mayhaps even some cross-country marshalling stories. I like it! Fresh dynamics!
