Rodney gives me more WFTH moments than any protagonist on any show I've watched in ten years. How do the writers not see this?
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
What...fucking the hell?
Watch from the hall?
Ooooh.
amych got it. Rodney makes me squirm with sympathetic embarrassment.
sympathetic embarrassment.
I hate that. Which is probably how I managed to dig up the phrase from the acronym.
I'm not entirely sympathetic. Even when I agree with his point, he phrases it so badly...like his "we're all on the same team" speech to Ronon. Eager Beavers? What an intense lack of self-knowledge.
Well, yeah, in that sense, you're right. I don't sympathize with Rodney, but I am embarrassed for him, because he's not emotionally-intelligent enough to be embarrassed on his own behalf.
I can't see putting up with Rodney's personality in a romantic relationship, but he'd be fun to talk to. Ronon's a lot less grating, but I'd miss being able to bat around pop culture stuff.
I'd prefer John over either of them. I'm not much into talking about emotions myself, and he's good on other topics. Also, pretty.
I don't think I surprise anyone by picking Ronon over everyone. John--there's something not quite right about him. I don't know how to explain it. Something about his vagueness I think would annoy after a while.
